About the event
This 6-week program, held every Tuesday from 4:00-6:00 PM from April 9th to May 14th, at Magnolia Community Gardens and the Schoolhouse, will equip you with essential skills for transitioning to adulthood in a supportive and engaging environment. Sessions are held in a small group style, ensuring personalized attention and a comfortable learning environment, led by Charleston Parks Conservancy Education Program Manager Katie Bell.
What will you learn?
Goal Setting & Self-Esteem: Develop a positive mindset, set achievable goals, and build confidence through group exercises and support.
Values & Career Exploration: Identify your personal values and explore career paths that align with your strengths, interests, and learning styles.
Social & Emotional Learning: Enhance communication, conflict resolution, and teamwork skills through interactive workshops.
Nutrition & Wellness: Learn about healthy eating habits, gardening techniques, and the connection between nature and well-being with expert guidance from the Charleston Parks Conservancy.
Community Service & Entrepreneurship: Give back to the community by growing crops at Magnolia Community Gardens, and get an opportunity to plan a booth for the local Farmers Market or cook and serve meals to food banks.
Cost: $1,800 (scholarships available)
